I raise this #whitecard in solidarity with those who continue to create real positive change by using sports to empower, inspire and unite.
That's exactly what I want to do by sharing my personal experiences of more than 20 years playing professional basketball.
I always loved the challenge of starting a season with a group of women of different cultural backgrounds and a coaching staff to work towards a big common goal, winning together.
As you can imagine, that hasn't always been a piece of cake. I strongly believe that a lot of things I learnt along the way, can also be useful for you.
As Nelson Mandela said:
“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand.”
